The Jewellery Design Competition 2023 conducted by the Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association under the theme ‘Celebrate Sri Lanka’, received an overwhelming number of entrants, with many professional and aspiring jewellery designers submitting a range of creative and attractive designs.
The first round of judging of the designs took place recently in the presence of a judging panel comprising of Indira Malwatte, as well as fashion designers Sonali Dharmawardena and Dinesh Chandrasena alongside Ali Suhail representing the jewellery industry on behalf of the association.
After a comprehensive evaluation of all the submissions by the judging panel, ten final designs were selected to be manufactured by the competition sponsors after which a second and final round of judging will take place later this year to decide on the three winning designs.
Following this, a special awards ceremony will also be held to showcase the beautiful jewellery designs and announce the winning designers.
