The 2021 Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards were announced this week. Registered voters from across the globe weighed in on their favourite resorts. Resplendent Ceylon received recognition for all three resorts: Cape Weligama, Ceylon Tea Trails and Wild Coast Tented Lodge.

The Resplendent hotels were featured in the Top 25 Resorts in Asia list - Cape Weligama at #4, Ceylon Tea Trails at #8 and Wild Coast Tented Lodge at #21.

The results highlight the travel experiences readers around the world long for most, the memories created and cherished over the years, especially when travel was restricted.

Resplendent Ceylon Managing Director Malik J. Fernando said, “We are elated that all three Resplendent resorts were recognised once again this year – testament to how special travel experiences can enrich us. We are grateful for the support of our loyal guests for this vote of confidence and look forward to welcoming everyone, now that travel is back.”

Sri Lanka was also voted among the Top 5 Countries for travel.

Fernando added, “The continued popularity of Sri Lanka bodes well for the recovery of tourism here, and highlights travellers’ love for our island and its people.”

Conceived by the Fernando family, Sri Lankan tea producers and founders of Dilmah Ceylon Tea, Resplendent Ceylon’s collection of small, luxury resorts offer the discerning traveller a remarkable circuit across Sri Lanka, with a range of authentic experiences. This ‘best of Sri Lanka’ circuit features three distinctive resorts - Ceylon Tea Trails in the Central Highlands, Cape Weligama on the southern coast and Wild Coast Tented Lodge near in Yala National Park - all connected by a thread of peerless service.
