Polycrome Electrical Industries (Pvt.) Ltd, a pioneering name in Sri Lanka’s electrical manufacturing sector, celebrated 45 years of dedicated service, innovation and excellence. 

Since its humble beginnings in 1980, under the visionary leadership of D.W. Paranavithana, Polycrome has grown to become a trusted household name and a symbol of quality and safety in Sri Lanka’s electrical industry. 

The company revolutionised the market with the long-lasting plastic switch and socket mounting box, a superior alternative to traditional wooden versions. Other milestones included Sri Lanka’s first plastic MCB enclosures, white ceiling roses and cable management systems—all designed and manufactured on home soil.

Today, Polycrome employs over 300 Sri Lankans across its main facilities in Boralesgamuwa, Homagama and Mathugama and maintains an extensive islandwide sales network, with 45 distributors serving over 10,000 dealers, delivering reliable, high-quality electrical solutions to every corner of the island.

The company boasts ISO 9001:2015 certification, multiple SLS certifications and recognition from prestigious industry bodies such as the CNCI (Ceylon National Chamber of Industries) Awards.

As part of the 45th-anniversary celebrations, Polycrome hosted its flagship Achievers Night 2024-2025 Distributor Convention and Star Awarding Ceremony recently at Waters Edge. 

Keynote speaker Chaaminda Kumarasiri, a distinguished financial expert and corporate trainer, commended Polycrome’s proud 45-year legacy. In his address, he emphasised that the company’s consistent commitment to quality has been the cornerstone of its long-standing success. 

The evening featured six award segments, celebrating the achievements of top distributors, corporate sales performers and outstanding dealers. Among the most coveted honours were the Chairman’s Award, Best Distributor of the Year, Corporate Sales Achiever of the Year, Best Area Sales Manager of the Year and Best Area Sales Executive Awards. In addition, the sales personnel were also honoured with cash awards, while the distributors were recognised with certificates, underscoring their outstanding contributions and exceptional performance.
