People’s Bank reaffirmed its industry leadership by receiving top honours at CRIB CEO’s Forum and Institutional Rating Awards Ceremony 2025, held recently at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo.

This prestigious event, organised by the Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka (CRIB), was graced by the Central Bank Governor as the chief guest and attended by a distinguished gathering, including Central Bank Deputy Governor and CRIB Board of Directors Chairman J.P.R. Karunaratne.

People’s Bank was recognised for its outstanding contribution to data quality and efficiency, securing accolades in two of the CRIB’s most significant performance categories: Maintenance of Updated Information and Maintenance of Highest Validity.

These awards underscore the bank’s unwavering commitment to data integrity, operational excellence and adherence to best practices in information management. Notably, People’s Bank contributes approximately four million transactions to the CRIB’s central repository—representing nearly 20 percent of the total data volume, further highlighting its scale and responsibility as a leading contributor to the national credit infrastructure.

People’s Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka stated, “We are deeply honoured by this recognition, which reflects the collective dedication and professionalism of our team. This achievement reaffirms our commitment to excellence and our pivotal role in supporting the country’s financial ecosystem through robust data governance.”

The CRIB Awards are presented under six key categories to institutions that consistently demonstrate high standards in data submission and integrity. The dual win for People’s Bank positions it among the most dependable and forward-thinking financial institutions in the country.
