Macbertan clinches double Gold at NCQP 2026

Macbertan, a leader in manufacturing excellence, has achieved an exceptional milestone by winning two prestigious Gold awards at the recently concluded National Convention on Quality and Productivity (NCQP) 2026. 

Organised by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity, the convention is recognised as the country’s premier national platform for continuous improvement and operational innovation.

This year’s convention witnessed intense competition, bringing together over 2,000 delegates and more than 450 quality improvement teams representing 100+ leading corporate entities nationwide. Against this highly competitive backdrop, Macbertan entered two cross-functional improvement teams under the Quality Control Circles Category. 

In a resounding validation of the company’s internal standards, both teams secured Gold awards, an outstanding accomplishment that highlights Macbertan’s deeply rooted quality culture.

The award-winning projects focused directly on improving process capability, eliminating waste, maximising manufacturing precision and boosting overall productivity. To achieve these outcomes, Macbertan’s cross-functional teams deployed structured, data-driven problem-solving methodologies including Brainstorming, Fishbone (Cause-and-Effect) Analysis and 5-Why Analysis. This disciplined application of Kaizen (continuous improvement) principles successfully optimised workplace performance while strictly adhering to environmental sustainability and workplace safety standards.
