The 16th  World Export Development Forum (WEDF) will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 12th to 13th October 2016 at 
the BMICH.
WEDF is the  global conference focused at developing potential of local enterprises,  creating  business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking platform dedicated to supporting  local entrepreneurs and businesses
An initiative of International Trade Centre (ITC), WEDF brings together over 600 business leaders, policymakers, heads of trade and investment support institutions and international trade development officials to address international competitiveness for developing countries.  This initiative is supported by the EDB locally.
On the 15th of March, the Steering Committee of the WEDF , recognized the sponsors of the event at the Sri Lanka Export Development Board, under the patronage of Sujeewa Senasinghe, State Minister of International Trade, amidst a large gathering of media personnel.
