Laugfs Gas PLC has announced that the domestic LPG prices will remain unchanged for June, despite the rising global procurement costs, supply chain challenges and depreciation of the Sri Lankan rupee.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the company said the global LPG industry continues to face significant pressures, due to the geopolitical uncertainties, fluctuations in international commodity prices, elevated freight charges and disruptions in supply chains. These factors have increased the landed cost of LPG imports in many markets worldwide.
However, Laugfs Gas said it has taken proactive measures to optimise its supply chain and improve operational efficiencies in order to absorb a substantial portion of these cost increases, without passing the burden on to consumers.
Accordingly, the company confirmed that the price of a 12.5kg domestic LPG cylinder would remain at Rs.6,245, while the 5kg cylinder would continue to be sold at Rs.2,500 during June. The company said that the announced prices are applicable to the Colombo district and may vary in other districts, depending on the transportation and distribution costs.
Laugfs Gas said that it remains committed to maintaining stable supplies, ensuring high safety standards and delivering reliable service to the customers, despite the challenging global operating environment.
The customers seeking information on district-wise prices or product availability have been advised to contact the Laugfs Gas hotline on 1345.
