LPG leader David Tyler in Sri Lanka

Laugfs Gas recently hosted David Tyler, Director of the World LPG Association (WLGA), during his visit to Sri Lanka, where he discussed global LPG industry developments, market insights, and opportunities for local industry growth.

In his keynote address at the Laugfs Gas headquarters, Tyler highlighted significant global LPG industry trends.

Tyler said, “LPG remains primarily used for domestic cooking, yet it has numerous additional applications including power generation, industrial fuel, and transportation.

It’s critical to educate and transition the nearly 2 billion people globally who still rely on traditional fuels like wood and kerosene, especially here in Sri Lanka, where traditional fuels remain prevalent.”

He highlighted the importance of establishing a unified LPG industry association in Sri Lanka to foster stakeholder collaboration and policy advocacy.

Laugfs Holdings Group Chairman commented, “Laugfs Gas, as the largest infrastructure investor in Sri Lanka’s LPG industry, is fully committed to optimizing its assets for national benefit. Laugfs Gas will continue its futuristic approach, leveraging innovation and infrastructure to drive industry growth.”

The session concluded on a forward-looking note, emphasizing market stability and the significant opportunities available globally, despite fluctuating international trade dynamics.
