Panel discussion at the LOLC Securities Investor Forum
LOLC Securities Limited hosted its inaugural Investor Forum under the theme “Capitalizing on the Economic Upswing” on 6 March at the Hilton Colombo Residence, bringing together approximately 100 high-net-worth individuals including their existing and prospective investors.
Marking a significant milestone for the company, the first-ever Investor Forum brought together leading industry professionalsfor a meaningful panel discussion, complemented by keynote addresses and insightful presentations, emphasising LOSEC’s continued commitment to deepening client relationships beyond traditional brokerage and advisory services.
Designed as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and strategic engagement, the forum provided participants with actionable insights while fostering constructive dialogue on investor expectations, concerns, and long-term portfolio strategies.
The event also addressed the implications of ongoing global conflicts and economic disruptions on capital market activity, offering investors timely perspectives on how geopolitical tensions, international trade shifts, and global economic uncertainties continue to shape market sentiment and influence investment decisions.
Delivering the keynote on Sri Lanka’s economic outlook, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Chathuranga Abeysinghe, shared insights on the country’s evolving economic landscape, policy priorities, and reform agenda driving the next phase of national growth.
He highlighted the role of structural transformation, private sector engagement, and industry-led development in sustaining economic momentum.
Providing a detailed overview of the capital market, Ruvini Kaushalya, Senior Manager, Research at LOLC Securities, presented an analysis of current market conditions, sector performance, and emerging investment opportunities, emphasizing the importance of informed, disciplined decision-making as Sri Lanka navigates renewed economic recovery.
The highlight of the evening was the panel discussion, moderated by Nisthar Cassim, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Daily FT, who guided a dynamic conversation among distinguished industry leaders and policymakers.
