Kia has marked another milestone in Sri Lanka’s automotive landscape with the unveiling of two all-new models – 2026 Kia Sportage and 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid – at an exclusive media preview at Cinnamon Life, Colombo.

Speaking at the event, Kia Motors (Lanka) Chairman Mahen Thambiah said, “Today, we have witnessed a defining moment as we bring not one but two completely reimagined models to Sri Lanka. The new Sportage Hybrid is ready for every adventure and lifestyle, while Carnival Hybrid sets new standards for modern family transportation. Both embody Kia’s ‘Movement that Inspires’ philosophy and will redefine expectations in their segments.”

2026 Kia Sportage – Ready for every adventure

The 2026 Sportage represents the most refined iteration of Kia’s best-selling SUV, with over seven million units sold globally. Developed ground-up to set new standards in the mid-size SUV segment, the Sportage combines a bold new look, cutting-edge hybrid powertrain and a wealth of technology upgrades.

Externally, Sportage’s striking silhouette is defined by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. Smooth surfaces merge with rugged forms, while the distinctive tiger nose grille and LED Star Map lighting create unmistakable presence on the road. New front and rear bumpers, along with 17- and 18-inch alloy wheel options, complete the dynamic stance.

Inside, the cabin offers a luxurious, spacious environment with a new two-spoke steering wheel, minimalist crash pad and hidden air vents. Rear passengers benefit from over one metre of legroom, while cargo space extends to 587 litres – expanding to 1,776 litres with the second row of seats folded.

At the heart of the driving experience is the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, featuring dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Kia Connect services and Feature-onDemand content – including YouTube and arcade games – make the Sportage one of the most connected SUVs on the road.

2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid – Space, style and sustainable performance

Sharing the spotlight, the allnew 2026 Carnival Hybrid redefines the MPV experience by combining spaciousness and premium comfort with a state-of-the-ar t hybrid powertrain.

Carnival’s refreshed exterior styling embraces a bold SUV-like presence. A sculptural grille, cube-like headlamps with signature amber Star Map daytime running lights, crisp rear contours and eye-catching 18-inch alloy wheels create a distinctive and modern look.

Inside, Carnival continues to offer best-in-class versatility, accommodating seven or eight passengers with up to 145.1 cubic feet of cargo space. The cabin features minimalist design cues, a curved panoramic dual-display with a 12.3-inch digital cluster and infotainment screen, and practical touches such as large dual cupholders.
