JXG (Janashakthi Group) has been honoured as One of Sri Lanka’s Most Outstanding Women Friendly Workplaces at SATYN Women Friendly Workplace Awards 2025, celebrating the group’s role as a champion for women in the workplace, embedding gender equity, inclusivity and well-being into every layer of operations.

This honour recognises JXG’s pioneering efforts in fostering a truly inclusive environment, surpassing compliance to create a culture where women feel safe, supported and empowered to grow. Inclusive leadership at JXG assures diverse voices shape strategy and culture. Women make up 59 percent of JXG’s workforce, significantly above the private-sector average of 35 percent and hold key roles in senior management, proving that gender representation is not only a target but a lived reality.

The award also reaffirms the group’s holistic approach of integrating women’s well-being into every operational layer, from boardroom representation and leadership development to daily workplace experiences, including flexibility, childcare support and wellness initiatives.

Central to the recognition is JXG’s people-first philosophy. Anchored in the belief ‘Our people are our power’, it drives comprehensive employee practices designed to remove workplace barriers. From transparent equal-pay frameworks and merit-based promotions to gender-sensitive grievance channels, every policy creates pathways for women’s advancement, whilst maintaining strict zero-tolerance policies on harassment and discrimination.

JXG (Janashakthi Group) Group Chief Human Resources Officer Wasanthi Stephen said, “Being honoured as one of Sri Lanka’s Most Outstanding Women Friendly Workplaces endorses our conviction that equity and excellence go hand in hand. At JXG, we do not stop at opening doors for women but walk alongside them, nurturing a culture where every voice is heard, talent is valued and ambitions are supported.”

The group’s progressive work-life integration initiatives demonstrate the commitment through flexible working hours, work-from-home arrangements, extended maternity and paternity leave and the innovative ‘Bring Your Kid to Work’ programme. These policies enable parents to balance caregiving and professional commitments without compromise, receive mental wellness support through retained counselling partnerships, mindfulness workshops and regular wellbeing sessions that prioritises employee holistic health.

Structured development programmes, mentoring and cross-functional exposure offer continuous learning opportunities and further cement JXG’s commitment that every employee will have the tools and opportunities to advance and grow. Combined with vibrant cultural events and employee-led interest groups, these initiatives create a safe, respectful and authentic work environment where women thrive.
