Indices closed on a mixed note



The ASPI closed in green as a result of price gains in counters such as Dialog Axiata, Ambeon Holdings and Bukit Darah with the turnover crossing Rs. 7.4 bn.

Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 closed in red. High net worth and institutional investor participation was noted in E B Creasy & Company, Teejay Lanka and CT Holdings. 

Mixed interest was observed in LVL Energy Fund , Sierra Cables and Raigam Wayamba Salterns whilst retail interest was noted in Tess Agro, Waskaduwa Beach Resort and Hela Apparel Holdings. 

Foreign participation in the market activity remained at subdued levels with foreigners closing as net sellers. The Capital Goods sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (due to EB Creasy & Company and Sierra Cables) whilst the sector index lost 0.16%. The share price of EB Creasy & Company gained Rs. 3.90 (6.11%) to close at Rs. 67.70. 

The share price of Sierra Cables moved up by Rs. 1.50 (6.64%) to close at Rs. 24.10. 

The Diversified Financials sector was the second highest contributor to the market turnover whilst the sector index edged down by 0.07%. LVL Energy Fund Limited, Raigam Wayamba Salterns and John Keells Hotels were also included amongst the top turnover contributors. 

The share price of LVL Energy Fund Limited increased by Rs. 1.10 (11.00%) to close at Rs. 11.10. The share price of Raigam Wayamba Salterns recorded a gain of Rs. 4.70 (23.50%) to close at Rs. 24.70. The share price of John Keells Hotels appreciated by Rs. 0.90 (3.90%) to close at Rs. 24.00.
