ISMM expands strategic partnerships



Unilever, Nestlé, Hayleys Advantis, Hemas Consumer Brands, Prima Group and Alumex to shape future of supply chain management 

The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) has taken a significant step in strengthening Sri Lanka’s supply chain industry by expanding its strategic partnership initiative. 

The ISMM has now collaborated with leading corporations, including Unilever Sri Lanka Limited, Nestlé Lanka Limited, Hayleys Advantis Limited, Hemas Manufacturing (Private) Limited, Ceylon Agro Industries (Pvt.) Ltd (Prima Group) and Alumex PLC.

By partnering with these prominent organisations, the ISMM aims to drive sustainable development, professional growth and transformative supply chain solutions across the country.

The agreements were signed at the ISMM Boardroom in Colombo by ISMM President Jayantha Gallehewa, Unilever Sri Lanka Executive Director and Director Supply Chain Damith Abeyratne, Nestlé Lanka Director Supply Chain Kanchana Fernando, Hayleys Advantis Head of Group Human Resources and Advantis Campus Imali Jayathilake, Hemas Manufacturing Managing Director Sabrina Esufally, Ceylon Agro Industries (Prima Group) General Manager Sajith Gunaratne and Alumex PLC Managing Director Pramuk Dediwela.

ISMM Past President Sarath Gamage, Vice President Lilantha Subasinghe, General Secretary Dr. Sanath Divakara and Business Development Committee Chairman and Secretary Thusith Gunawarnasuriya and Dilshan Silva graced the event.

The structured partnership between the ISMM and organisations is designed to provide long-term benefits to the ISMM members and employees of partner organisations through:

1.Sustainable industry-academic partnerships – Establishing a structured collaboration aligning with mutual industry and academic goals.

2.Priority access for ISMM students – Offering internships and job placements, allowing students hands-on industry experience.

3.Customised training programmes – Delivering specialised professional development programmes at exclusive rates to enhance the skills and capabilities of supply chain professionals.

4.Industry exposure for ISMM students – Organising field visits to partner facilities, offering first-hand insights into supply chain and logistics operations.

Gallehewa stated, “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to develop world-class supply chain professionals who will drive Sri Lanka’s supply chain sector toward global competitiveness.”
