INSEE Cement and ISMM forge strategic partnership



MoU signed by Thusith Gunawarnasuriy and Jayantha Gallehewa

INSEE Cement has entered into a strategic partnership with the Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) to transform the country’s supply chain sector.

 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at a ceremony in Colombo by Thusith Gunawarnasuriya, INSEE COO and Jayantha Gallehewa, ISMM President, in the presence of representatives from both organizations.

The collaboration establishes a mutually beneficial relationship aimed at elevating Sri Lanka’s supply chain standards. The partnership will focus on bridging the gap between industry and academia to develop a more skilled and capable workforce in supply chain management.



Thusith Gunawarnasuriya, COO, INSEE Cement stated, “The strategic alliance represents a win-win situation for both organizations as we work together to elevate Sri Lanka’s supply chain excellence. INSEE will share our extensive industry expertise and operational know-how, while simultaneously benefiting from ISMM’s academic knowledge and specialized training programmes.



Together we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for students and professionals and to address the evolving needs of the supply chain sector.”



Under the comprehensive agreement, INSEE Cement will share industry know-how and supply chain expertise with ISMM students and professionals, offering real-world insights into effective supply chain operations and practical understanding of industry challenges and solutions. Simultaneously, ISMM will deliver customized training programs for INSEE employees, enhancing their supply chain knowledge through specialized academic expertise that addresses the company’s specific needs



The collaboration extends to practical development opportunities, with INSEE providing internships and job placement opportunities for qualified ISMM students. 



Both organizations will facilitate industry field visits and hands-on learning experiences, ensuring theoretical knowledge is complemented by practical application.

 

Throughout the partnership, INSEE and ISMM will promote and implement industry best practices that will benefit the entire supply chain ecosystem in Sri Lanka.



At a national level, strengthening supply chain management capabilities will contribute to more efficient industries, economic growth, and improved global competitiveness.Both organizations have expressed their dedication to ensuring the partnership becomes a model for industry-academia collaboration in the country.
