‘HyperCon 2026’ set to storm Colombo this August

HyperCon 2026, poised to be one of the island’s largest gaming, esports, and digital entertainment conventions, will officially take over the capital this August. 

Organized by NXL Entertainment in collaboration with TRIOSLK, the massive two-day convention is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of August.  The event will turn the Royal MAS Arena and the Royal College Union (RCU) Skills Centre in Colombo 07 into a high-octane hub for the country’s digital generation.

HyperCon 2026 isn’t just an esports tournament; it is a holistic celebration of modern pop culture. The convention aims to unite esports athletes, casual gamers, cosplayers, content creators, and fans from every corner of Sri Lanka under one roof. The event is projected to attract over 4,000 on-site visitors and reach an explosive digital audience of more than 100,000 people through high-quality professional livestreams, match highlights, creator collaborations, and extensive online coverage.

At the heart of HyperCon 2026 are the highly anticipated Esports Championships. Gamers will battle it out across major titles including PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Free Fire, and e-Chess, featuring competitive prize pools and professional tournament management complete with live commentary. 

Beyond the screens, the convention floor will come alive with vibrant Cosplay Competitions. Fans can expect stunning individual costume showcases, dramatic stage performances, and awards honoring the community’s best craftsmanship and creativity. The excitement continues off the main stage with a dedicated Live Entertainment lineup featuring live DJ performances, music shows, and interactive audience games with massive giveaways. For tech enthusiasts and consumers, the Brand Experience Zone will host interactive sponsor activations, product demonstrations, and exclusive brand exhibitions.
