Great Place To Work Sri Lanka recently announced the Best Workplaces for Young Talent 2025, honouring organizations that excel in creating exceptional environments for employees under the age of 35.
This marks the sixth consecutive year of the study. Formerly known as the Best Workplaces for Millennials, the list now includes both millennials and Gen Zs, reflecting the evolving makeup and aspirations of Sri Lanka’s young workforce and recognizing organizations that inspire this next generation of professionals.
The 2025 list features 15 outstanding organizations, that have successfully cultivated inclusive, inspiring, and future-ready workplaces for young employees, using a localized methodology tailored to capture the unique needs and expectations of young Sri Lankan professionals.This year’s study drew participation from 83,000 employees across 133 assessments, with 53 percent of participants under the age of 35.
The findings shed light on the shifting expectations of young professionals while underscoring the attributes that distinguish the Best Workplaces for Young Talent.
Pride in the workplace emerged as the most prominent sentiment, with employees expressing strong admiration for their organization’s corporate image and team accomplishments.
Fairness, especially in relation to profit sharing, was highlighted as an area with the greatest scope for improvement, although the top-performing organizations continued to lead in this aspect compared to others.
At the same time, performance management and work environment were identified as critical areas for further enhancement to meet the aspirations of young professionals among both best and the rest.
Employee advocacy, a key indicator of organizational health, remained consistently strong across best workplaces.
Additionally, egalitarian treatment emerged as a vital driver of their emotional connects with the organization, reinforcing the importance ofa culture of inclusivity within these organizations.
The Great Place To Work For All model evaluates organizations using two core components: the Trust Index Survey (65 percent), which measures employee experiences of trust, pride, and camaraderie while ensuring accuracy through strict anonymity and post-survey audits; and the Culture Audit (35 percent), which assesses the people practices and cultural frameworks that foster positive employee experiences.
To qualify for recognition, organizations must achieve a minimum of 70 percent positive employee experience scores in the Trust Index Survey, successfully complete the Culture Audit™, and employ at least 20 young employees, representing a minimum of 10 percent of their total workforce.
