In a landmark appointment for the country’s education sector, Fazra Irfan has been accredited by Cambridge University Press & Assessment as a Programme Leader in Sri Lanka for its prestigious Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (PDQ) in Early Years Good Practice (EYGP).
This role is further amplified by her position as one of the Directors of Footsteps Preschool, which itself holds the distinction of being the first Cambridge-accredited Early Years preschool in Sri Lanka.
This appointment establishes Footsteps Preschool and academy as a Professional Development Centre for EYGP, under the University of Cambridge Press & Assessment, positioning it at the forefront of elevating early childhood educator training.
A visionary educator, with over 15 years of international experience with GEMS Education in UAE, Fazra is tasked with spearheading the delivery of this globally-recognised qualification. Her mission is to cultivate a new benchmark for teaching excellence for the nation’s youngest learners.
This initiative directly addresses a crucial gap in specialised professional development within the early years sector. Under her leadership, the programme will empower a generation of educators with cutting-edge pedagogical strategies, research-based theories and practical tools, ensuring every child receives the world-class foundation they deserve.
