Sri Lanka today kicks off its first international gem and jewellery exhibition of the year as FACETS Sri Lanka 2026 opens at The Forum, Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, marking a significant new chapter for the country’s flagship industry showcase.
Now in its 33rd year, FACETS has moved to the newly opened Cinnamon Life complex, hosting its most expansive edition to date across two floors.
The organisers say the modern venue and redesigned exhibition layout are set to deliver a more immersive experience for international buyers, traders, collectors and jewellery enthusiasts, while reinforcing Sri Lanka’s positioning as a leading global gemstone hub.
A major highlight this year is the first-ever participation of the globally renowned Gübelin Gem Lab in a Sri Lankan gem exhibition. Serving as the Official Gem Lab Partner, Gübelin brings more than a century of gemmological expertise to FACETS 2026, offering exhibitors and visitors access to international-standard gem testing and certification during the three-day event.
FACETS 2026 is backed by a strong roster of partners, with Cinnamon Life serving as Hotel and Venue Partner. Akbar Brothers and Barista have come on board as Tea and Coffee Lounge Partners, while John Keells Properties is the Real Estate Partner. Alpha Industries is the Safe Partner, Universal Travel Bureau the Travel Partner, Brinks the Official Security Partner and LMD the Official Business Magazine.
The industry confidence in the exhibition has also been underscored by the participation of 11 leading exporters and jewellers under the Sapphire Sponsorship Circle, highlighting a collective push to strengthen the global presence of Ceylon sapphires.
Innovation features prominently this year, with the introduction of a Virtual Reality Gem Mine Experience that allows the visitors to explore Sri Lanka’s gem-mining heritage through immersive storytelling.
The Export Development Board Pavilion and National Gem and Jewellery Authority Pavilion will spotlight small and medium-sized enterprises, showcasing the emerging jewellers, lapidarists and gemstone traders alongside the established industry players.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association, FACETS 2026 is endorsed by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, National Gem and Jewellery Authority and Sri Lanka Export Development Board, with support from the International Coloured Stone Association.
