The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sri Lanka and Digital Economy Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently at the UN Compound.
The agreement recognises the UNDP in Sri Lanka as a strategic partner to the Digital Economy Ministry for Disrupt Asia 2025, Sri Lanka’s premier start-up conference and innovation festival, where visionaries, investor and disruptors come together.
The agreement was signed by Digital Economy Ministry Acting Secretary Waruna Sri Dhanapala and UNDP Sri Lanka Resident Representative Azusa Kubota, in the presence of Digital Economy Deputy Minister Eranga Weeraratne, Chief Advisor to President of Sri Lanka on Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, UNDP Sri Lanka Deputy Resident Representative Marina Ten, UNDP Sri Lanka Strategic Engagement, Digital and Innovation Team Team Leader Fadhil Bakeer Markar, UNDP Sri Lanka Citra Lab Lab Manager Yasas Thalagala and UNDP Sri Lanka Citra Lab Digital and Service Design Officer Deshani Senanayake.
Through this collaboration, the UNDP will continue to work closely with the ministry in order to achieve the ambitious goals set forth in the government’s national digital economy blueprint for Sri Lanka.
