The MOU was officially signed at the HNB Head Office in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations, including  Kanchana Karunagama, Senior Vice President – Head of Retail Banking; Sanjay Wijemanna, Senior Executive Vice President – Chief Operating Officer; and Asitha Fernando, Manager – Personal Financial Services from HNB, together with  Samantha Silva, Director; Lahiru Vitharana, General Manager – Finance, Strategy & Operations;  Prasanna Dissanayake, Assistant General Manager – Sales & Marketing; and Dilshan Jayasinghe, Manager – Planning & Operations from DPRE.

Through this collaboration, customers will gain access to high-quality and reliable solar power solutions offered by DPRE, supported by convenient and trusted financing facilities from HNB. For domestic solar solutions, loan values will range from Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 7,000,000, while C&I project financing will be structured based on individual customer requirements and project scope.

The loan tenure will extend up to seven years, with competitive low interest rates that vary according to the selected repayment period. This flexible financing structure is designed to enable a smooth, affordable, and transparent transition to renewable energy for households, businesses, and industrial customers across Sri Lanka.

By combining the David Pieris Group’s trusted 40-year legacy with DPRE’s strong technical expertise, proven industry track record and end-to-end solar solutions, alongside HNB’s extensive banking network and financial strength, the initiative is expected to significantly accelerate solar energy adoption nationwide.

This collaboration strongly aligns with Sri Lanka’s national energy objectives, including the target of generating 70 percent of electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and achieving carbon net-zero by 2050, reinforcing both organisations’ shared commitment to sustainable development and a greener future.
