David Pieris Renewable Energy (Private) Limited (DPRE) has entered into a strategic partnership with Sampath Bank PLC to make solar energy more accessible and affordable across Sri Lanka.
The agreement was officially signed in the presence of Sampath Bank Senior Deputy General Manager Operations and Branch Banking Deepal De Silva, Chief Manager Branch Banking Keshan Dabare, Manager Lending Products Dilum Ilayperuma, Assistant Manager Lending Products Sandaruwan Kodagoda, DPRE Chairman and Managing Director Jayantha Ratnayake, Executive Director Samantha Silva, General Manager Finance, Strategy and Operations Lahiru Vitharana, Assistant General Manager Sales and Marketing Prasanna Dissanayake and Assistant Manager Electrical Engineering Risil Rajasinghe.
Individuals can secure Sampath Bank loans up to Rs.5 million at a fixed interest rate of 10.5 percent per annum, while amounts above Rs.5 million are available at 11 percent per annum. Customers taking home loans that include solar integration will receive an additional interest reduction of 0.25 percent.
Small and medium manufacturing enterprises eligible for refinance can benefit from special loans between Rs.10 million and panel capacities up to 50 kW at a concessionary rate of just 6.5 percent per annum. Those installing solar systems up to 5 kW can obtain loans of up to Rs.1.25 million without the need for collateral.
With DPRE’s involvement, the customers will receive free CEB clearance, grid connection and the first year’s insurance. They are entitled to two free maintenance services within the first year, followed by a 25 percent discount on future maintenance visits. The solar systems provided include high-quality Tier 1, N-Type panels backed by a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty as well as 10-year workmanship warranty; inverters from reputed brands offer a 10-year warranty.
