ClinicalPad debuts in Sri Lanka

At the 26th BioInquirer Research Forum hosted by the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS), UK-based health tech startup ClinicalPad introduced a platform that is driven to reducing the administrative burden on medical professionals and transforming how clinical data is captured, shared, and acted upon.

The platform was introduced by Aftharb Mowlana, CEO and co-founder of ClinicalPad, who shared insights from over three years of research and development.

“According to published research, up to one-third of a clinician’s time is consumed by administrative tasks,” Mowlana noted. “That’s time which could be redirected to patient care — the true mission of every healthcare professional. ClinicalPad was created to solve this. By leveraging our platform, clinicians can cut documentation time by more than 98 percent.”

ClinicalPad is a next-generation SaaS platform engineered to streamline clinical documentation and workflows in hospitals, clinics, and general practices.

Equipped with artificial intelligence, voice-to-text functionality, and intelligent templates, the platform enables clinicians to produce accurate notes in seconds, manage patient records securely, and collaborate in real time with multidisciplinary teams.

Designed with compliance, customization, and scalability at its core, ClinicalPad is well-suited to both public and private healthcare institutions — in developed and emerging markets alike.

ClinicalPad received the Bronze Award at the BioInquirer Research Forum. The award was presented to S. Omar Z. Mowlana, Chief Global Strategist of ClinicalPad, by Dr. Kithsiri Edirisinghe, CEO of IIHS, at the IIHS Multiversity. The event was also graced by Prof. Sarath Samarage, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies at IIHS.

This milestone marks the beginning of a promising partnership between ClinicalPad and IIHS, united by a shared vision to fast-track the digital transformation of Sri Lanka’s healthcare landscape. Together, they aim to enhance system-wide efficiency, reduce clinician burnout, and foster AI-enabled innovations across both primary and secondary care sectors.

ClinicalPad is currently recruiting hospitals and clinics across Sri Lanka to participate in a series of pilot studies. These trials will assess the platform’s effectiveness in local contexts, ensuring seamless integration with Sri Lankan clinical practices and delivering measurable improvements.
