In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, Cargills Food City reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to sustainability with a special bring your own bag (BYOB) initiative.
The campaign, which was carried out in collaboration with Zero Plastic Movement and Lumala, offered the shoppers a chance to win an Lumala e-bike by bringing their own bags or opting for the reusable Cargills Go Green bag.
The campaign received an overwhelmingly positive response, with over 1,000 customers enthusiastically joining the eco-conscious movement. All participants were entered into a lucky draw to win a Lumala electric bike, a sustainable mobility solution perfectly aligned with the campaign’s ethos.
D.A. Tharushi Semine from Hittathiyamada, Matara became the lucky winner of the Lumala e-bike.
Cargills Food City remains committed to driving responsible and sustainable retail practices, placing a strong emphasis on minimising the use of single-use plastics. Therefore, the BYOB campaign is one of many steps taken by Cargills Food City to build a greener future.
