The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI), the pioneering industry chamber in the country, has scheduled a half-day seminar on the payment of the budgetary relief allowance to the private sector employees, on June 8, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. to 430 p.m., at Mahaweli Centre, No: 96, Ananda Kumaraswami Mawatha, Colombo 7 (close to the Public Library).
The CNCI Secretariat has observed that many organisations have some issues and are certainly in need of clearing their doubts and issues on the subject.  The scheduled seminar is expected to give a thorough awareness covering the areas of eligibility of employees and effective dates, calculation methods, daily-paid workers, minimum wage policy, its effect to the payments of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF) and overtime (OT), effects to the new entrants and those recently retired/resigned, etc.
The awareness programme has specially been designed for those who are involved in finance, payroll management, administration, human resource management and any others interested in non-finance areas. The programme provides the participants with an ample opportunity to seek clarifications on any issues concerned.
The CNCI is doing this awareness programme for the third time owing to the repeated requests by the private sector companies. The seminar will be conducted by former Labour Commissioner Sarath Ranawera, who has decades of experience in labour-related areas and possessing very good training skills.
For registration and further details you may contact the chamber secretariat: 2339200/2452181.
