Bank of Ceylon introduces new mobile banking app

Bank of Ceylon (BOC) launched BOC Flex, its new mobile banking app, on March 21, at Lotus Tower Colombo, to provide the customers with a more advanced and user-friendly digital banking experience.

The event was attended by Chief Advisor to President on Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, BOC Chairman Kavinda de Zoysa, General Manager/CEO Russel Fonseka and the corporate and executive management of BOC.

The new app introduces an expanded suite of features designed to offer greater convenience, security and control over personal finances.

BOC Flex enables the users to seamlessly access banking services anytime, anywhere, at their convenience. New users can self-register and log in securely, using biometric authentication and open Flex savings without being required to visit a bank branch. The app also allows the customers to open BOC savings accounts and fixed deposits with renewal options, simplifying account management through a few quick steps.

For those seeking financial flexibility, BOC Flex offers instant loan services, allowing customers to obtain loans against fixed deposits directly through the platform. The app also supports one-to-one, multiple and scheduled fund transfers, along with bill payment options to facilitate seamless transactions.

BOC Deputy General Manager Products and Banking Development Y.A. Jayathilaka stated, “This next generation app is designed to provide seamless, secure and convenient banking experience at fingertips. We continue to evolve with technology to provide the benefits of tech revolution to our nation.”

Beyond usual banking services, BOC Flex is designed to offer a more personalised user experience. Customisable widgets and themes allow users to tailor their dashboard to suit their individual preferences, making navigation intuitive and convenient. Built-in financial tools such as an expense tracker, payment reminders and financial memos, help users stay on top of their spending and savings goals.

The app will soon be available for download on major app stores, ensuring accessibility for all customers.
