Automobile Industry Awards recognise excellence across sector

The inaugural International Automobile Industry Awards presented by the Automobile Industry Council of Sri Lanka was held recently.

Fifty eight awards were presented throughout the evening in a variety of categories, recognising exceptional achievement, leadership, and industry impact. 

Speaking about the awards’ wider significance, Council Chairman Eng. Ravith Silva stated that he believes the programme will help in attracting a fresh generation of talent to the industry. Young people looking for opportunities, careers, and education would witness an industry that openly celebrates excellence in addition to rewarding it. 

He noted that future innovators, technicians, entrepreneurs, and leaders will be motivated to seek careers in the automobile sector by this spirit of recognition. 

The awarding of the Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given to individuals whose dedication, integrity, and enduring contribution have left a lasting impression on the industry, marked the culmination of the ceremony. 

The evening’s Chief Guest was Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunnetti.
