AICPA and CIMA recognised as Great Place to Work in Sri Lanka for first time

AICPA and CIMA, which together form the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the association), have been named a Great Place To Work (GPTW), a prestigious recognition awarded by the global organisation that benchmarks and celebrates outstanding employee experience, in Sri Lanka for the very first time.

For 2025, AICPA and CIMA are certified again as a Great Place To Work in eight countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Malaysia, China, India, South Africa and for the first time this year, Sri Lanka and Poland.

With a global workforce of more than 1,200 employees, the association continues to build on its tradition of investing in its people, offering career advancement, competitive compensation and a values-driven culture.

“We are proud to be recognised as a Great Place To Work for another year,” said AICPA and CIMA Chief People Officer Sue Warman.

“This achievement is a direct result of our people and the positive culture they help create every day. Our consistent focus on open dialogue, inclusion and professional growth ensures we continue to thrive across borders.”

The association first earned GPTW certifications in 2020 in the UK, US and Malaysia. Since then, it has expanded its recognition across the globe, with certifications in South Africa, India, Ireland and China in 2024.

This year, Poland and Sri Lanka join the list of certified locations, reflecting the organisation’s growing global presence.

“Being recognised as a Great Place To Work in Sri Lanka marks a significant milestone for the association’s presence in Sri Lanka. Being this is our maiden certification, it reflects our dedication and commitment to creating workplaces where employees feel valued and empowered to thrive,” added AICPA and CIMA Country Head Sri Lanka Tharindu Wijewardana, ACMA (UK), CGMA.

The certification is based on a confidential trust index survey conducted by Great Place To Work, an independent consultancy group and authority on workplace culture.

The survey captures employee feedback on credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie — key drivers of a high-trust workplace.

AICPA and CIMA support their employees through robust professional development programmes, flexible work arrangements and maintaining a fun, engaging workplace culture. Internal committees help guide initiatives that foster belonging across the organisation.

The Great Place to Work Certification is valid for 12 months and can be renewed annually based on fresh survey data and feedback.
