ACE Apparel (Pvt.) Ltd Koggala, a subsidiary of Aitken Spence PLC, has become the first and only company in Sri Lanka to receive the prestigious OEKO-TEX Organic Cotton certification for its products.

This significant achievement marks a major milestone in ACE Apparel’s ongoing commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices.

The certification was awarded during the recently held Hohenstein Global Sustainability Conference Sri Lanka. The certification was presented by Ivonne Schramm, Global Head of OEKO-TEX certification and Head of the Certification Body in Hohenstein, Germany.

“We are honoured to receive the OEKO-TEX Organic Cotton certification, which underscores our dedication to sustainability and excellence in manufacturing,” said Aitken Spence Apparel CEO/Director Lushan Perera.

“This certification is a testament to our team’s hard work and our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint.”

The OEKO-TEX Organic Cotton certification is a globally recognised standard that ensures textiles are produced in an environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner. This certification highlights ACE Apparel’s efforts to integrate sustainable practices into its operations, from sourcing organic cotton to implementing eco-friendly production processes.
