Tamil diaspora previously actively support the LTTE. Asking for their money will only lead to more trouble, as they will ask for concession like implement the 13th amendment in full sooner. Diaspora buy property and plenty in Sri Lanka in North and East. Chance to cancel 13th Amendment in next two year while SLPP has majority will be lost if diaspora money poisons the our politics.

There are too many disincentive for tourist to come here. The exchange rate being fixed means their dollars get less value as prices in rupee here go up. Then with the other crisis, including hotel without diesel generator not having 24 hour AC means less options to enjoy in remote place hotels. Hotel prices go up in rupee, and same dollar amount can now do only 20 days when some months back it could do 25 days. This government expenditure with new development is wasted money. Tourist don't want to come here because not worth it. Money for development can be better used for other industry or provide concessions to general public. The expenditure is not warranted or necessary at this time.

Retirement age at 60 is already too high. Most of the workers over 55 in government sector are already showing age caused fatigue and inefficient. Persons over 55 should be offered re-trenched money as offer of early retirement. In state enterprises the retirement age should be reduced to 55. No top official should be working in government sector job if they are over 60 for any reason. If they work there, it is because political appointment only.
