Heavy falls expected over the island

The Meteorology Department today said thunder showers could be expected over the island in the afternoon and night.

Occasional strong winds were expected during thundershowers, the Department said, and showers will occur in the Western and Southern coastal areas during the morning.

It said the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota may be fairly rough at times, as winds could strengthen up to 50kmph. (LSP)
