The German Navy has 16,000 naval soldiers and a population of 83 million, who are equipped with the latest technology. Sri Lanka, with a population of 22 million, has 48,000 naval soldiers equipped with scrap. There is no need to ask which navy is more powerful.

Civilian professions have very few ranks within every job but the military has so many ranks. The more the rank there are the more they become self conscious of their own assumed importance and they become very arrogant.

Why what is the reason ?? Did he achieve something significant to spend some more of tax payers money and promote him and provide additional privileges ?? Can a bankrupt country afford all this ??
Pointless news about military promotions Saturday, 17 December 2022 06:47 PM
Doesn't matter a bit for peoples day to day lives. The staff in the oversized military having promotions doesn't benefit the country in anyway, so pointless news.

how many ships, not fishing boats, do we have? Is this a land 'Navy'
Poor citizen (rich in wisdom and education) Sunday, 18 December 2022 04:29 AM
Navy does not have enough ships by far, means by far to appoint any Admirals. What a load of rubbish this appointment is, moreover any promotion comes with additional perks and salary increment. Our politicians are a bunch of useless idiots including the President, yet doing stupid things for their personal protection, at a time when we should be tightening our belts, as in the past our politicians are killing our country with no clear vision and policies. There is no leader even within the horizon to lead our debt ridden country to pull out of the economic mess. Policies of JVP , their lies, manipulations are even worse. All those walking stick politicians must be voted out, get a new set of youngsters, with strict legislation against for this of corrupt decisions. Let us do it at next election!
