The United States will continue to support Sri Lanka through its economic crisis, US Under Secretary Victoria Nuland has assured.
She made these remarks when she met Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, who is currently in the US.
“The United States will continue to support Sri Lanka through its economic crisis, and we will work together to support a free and prosperous region,” Nuland tweeted.

You are dreaming if you think we'd be allowed into America for being just Sri Lankan citizen. They have too much illegal immigrant from their southern neighbors already, and have thorough scrutiny for any Sri Lankan citizen wanting to visit for holiday over there. Have to show much wealth, and strong case for wanting to live back in Sri Lanka instead of over staying. Who really wants to come to our country, and it was pigheaded fools who ended the free on arrival 30 day tourist visa that was previously provided to citizens of wealthy nations to come holiday here.

Many youth realise their material future here was lost by the subsidy provided to the previous generations, including their parents. Providing those subsidy and easy job in government, and still having oversized military is really stealing from the children of our nation. They are the ones who will suffer more because of inflation caused problems now as they become youth. Youth want freedoms, and freedom of expression more than you think, and realise the patriotism as spoken by older or middle aged nationalists is more for the self-serving needs than to help the upcoming generation the youth are. US is top for freedom of expression, and political free speech, and youth would rather have that prosperity and freedom than continue the traditions of a so called 2500 Buddhist nation.

Wimal was there to make Welcome speech for China research ship with the 1000 sailors/military men. It would be out of form for MP Wimal if he kept quiet about the US trying to influence our country to become distant from China, for the sake of their Geo-political interests. People would wonder if he's been paid off by the US or India if he stays quiet. I would want freedom but without the noose around the neck of addressing about the past Tamil problems that US, Europe, and India including on the US want to hammer on about.
