The Galle Police launched investigations after two Ukrainian sailors who were working on a cargo ship from Egypt to India had died in Sri Lankan waters.
Police said the ship is currently anchored in the seas off Galle harbor and the matters regarding the deaths have been reported to the Galle Magistrate.
They said necessary arrangements are being taken to bring the dead bodies to the Karapitiya hospital where a post-mortem will be conducted.
The deceased are Ukrainian nationals aged 41 and 53. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
