Dangerous criminals have to be eliminated, the only negative fall out is, these policemen who actually do this kind of extrajudicial killings are transformed by their own actions into becoming dangerous uniform killers themselves. And that is a threat to the society.

Rule 1 if you want to become an underworld criminal in Sri Lanka: Never attempt to throw grenades at the police when taking them to show hidden weapons. It never works! Suspects from the days of Upatissa Gamanayaka have tried this technique and the success rate is 0%. I have never heard of a suspect escaping after throwing a grenade while leading the police to hidden weapons. Yet these criminals continue to use this method. This is worse than a Tom and Jerry cartoon.

Very convenient... before he divulges the names of parliamentarians. Now watch how this countries citizens clap at this heroic deed and give praise. It just shows the low level citizens this country has including those 69%.

WoW.. With handcuffs on..?? ...He must have been James Bond.....Dear police, whom are you Trying to fool with this age old story.... At least come up with a new method....

    Ramesh Friday, 26 November 2021 09:46 AM

Didn't the police check the suspect when he was arrested? How could he hide a hand grenade when he got arrested? The stories cooked up by police only good enough in Sri Lanka but not in Scotland!

    RP Friday, 26 November 2021 09:49 AM

Hand grenade, recover crime weapon, what else new? It's simply another cold blood murder by the POLICE!

    Independent Friday, 26 November 2021 09:51 AM

He is taken fully handcuffed how come he throw a hand grenade?

Dilshan Perera Friday, 26 November 2021 09:54 AM

Sri Lanka needs a law. When prisoners take to show firearms they have to be accompanied by a lawyer.

    Ralaharamy Friday, 26 November 2021 12:56 PM

Thank you Police Uncles. You saved millions of rupees in useless Police procedures, and hundreds of man-hours in courts procedures. Can we add this as a viable action/solution in fighting crime?

    Game Friday, 26 November 2021 01:52 PM

    Same old story. Madush????

    Ram Friday, 26 November 2021 02:04 PM

Easy way of finishing several cases with one stroke. This situation must be arrested. If the suspect is hand cuffed hands to his back with feet chained the Police cannot be heard to repeat this. Further the best evidence is video evidence and why not the IG instruct Police to video record these instances like in the developed world

Take minister in charge of police before the international criminal court.

    VJ Friday, 26 November 2021 08:17 PM

The police murdered the man to suppress vital information. I am sure like most contract killers, this man must have connections in high places.

dickie bird Friday, 26 November 2021 08:31 PM

The suspect has been reckless. Old rule is those who rule by the sword die by the sword. Its in the past. Now a days, those who rule by the gun die by the gun.

    Udeyanga Friday, 26 November 2021 08:40 PM

Well done, destroy such underworld gangs and let the people live peacefully.

Demuni Uduwara Saturday, 27 November 2021 07:43 AM

This is an unlawful prototype, civil societies condemn in. We should understand this bullet might chase us, after a time. Let's protest this type of evil acts, wholly.
