We must send our mighty most powerful Sri Lankan buddhist army to invade Canada and destroy this monument. We must also ban all aid from our prosperous paradise to Canada and ban Tea and apparel exports to Canada or this may end up like the Balfour declaration which led to the creation of Israel. Alternatively we may all go to our Buddhist temples and invoke Buddha to destroy this monument

Remember, Money could buy anything and everything in Canada!! Mind you all Politicians to run for public office needs great deal of money. And politicians don't bring money from home. All Politicians regardless of their political party affiliation, they get donors contributions through fund raising. There's major organization and individuals with hidden agendas support politicians with monetary contributions to carry out their agenda. You get plenty of crooked politicians in Canada. The situation is, except for immigrants mostly Asians interested in politics, however Caucasians NOT interested in politics Coz just to give you an idea only 1/3 of Caucasians voted at the last federal election in 2021.

Srilanka likes it or not, there are actions have been taken by individuals and organizations to acknowledge that genocide has happened in the war ended in 2009. Canada's official stand and 6 US Senators' draft of a resolution to call the war "Tamil Genocide" are not something Srilanka can ignore. The only way to come out clean is to look in to the crimes committed, bring the perpetrators to justice and find a permanent solution for the ethnic crisis. Complaining and criticizing will not improve anything.

Some Canadian Tamils did support Genocide for a prolonged period. Tamil mayor, Tamil Foreign Minister were murdered and Tamils who supported genocide kept quiet. They also funded these elements that engaged in Genocide and also funded politicians in USA and Canada with these blood money. So Canadians may end up unknowingly commemorating their own contribution to genocide.

Tamils who supported and funded genocide from one side of the so called civil war are now erecting a monument to remember the victims. All fair records attribute blame to both sides. Therefore short sighted Canadian politicians will have to allow both sides to use this monument to remember the dead. Or expect the other side to also start erecting monuments elsewhere and Canadians of the future will realize the stupidity of the current politicians who are allowing these short sighted actions to embarrass Canadians of the future.

Please provide the money allocated these lifeless monuments to fund the education of children in the North or provide better lives for the refugee camps still prevalent in South India. Southern kids already under malnutrition and this affects their education. Imagine the plight of the North. Only way Tamils to have a better future in this country is to get a good education and live among the Southerners and learn some Sinhala. This will put some sense in to southerners that Tamils are also their fellow brothers and sisters. And just like them Tamils are too going through the hardships (sometimes more), and the only difference is language and faith. And it was the politicians from both sides that divided them all along to be elected in the parliament.

The Portuguese captured the Jaffna Tamil Kingdom and the British captured Wanni kingdom along with Kandy and combined Ceylon established in 1833 and gave all to our Politicians in1948. Hello Punchi, the elite Tamils who lost the preferential treatment started the civil war to create a country with 67% of the land mass for their 8% population. You guys only talk about Tamils killed but never talk about others killed by LTTE. Majority of tamils were killed by LTTE and the Tamil children were forcibly conscripted to engage in a war after severe brain washing by LTTE. Ok , 1956 and 1977 riots were not at all acceptable which were mainly committed by the politicians. But , now, do you want to live in the past with a one sided story or do you want to understand both sides and agree on wayforward.
