Sri Lanka won the third and final T20I of the three-match T20I series against India by seven wickets and clinched the series 2-1 on Thursday.

This becomes Sri Lanka’s first T20I series win since 2019, when Dasun Shanaka led Sri Lanka to a 3-0 series win against Pakistan.

Wanindu Hasaranga was the top performer with the ball for Sri Lanka and he was also the Player of the Match and Player of the Series. India were restricted to 81 for 8 after winning the toss and opting to bat as Hasaranga scalped four wickets and gave away just nine runs.

However, India were far from their best both on the field as well as in team combination.

Several players in the squad were isolated after being deemed close contacts of all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. With this series win, Sri Lanka equalled the honours on this tour after having conceded the ODI series to India earlier.

Win is a win but this is India's 4th eleven team

Any win is good if they can build on that.

Nothing to celebrate or be proud of. The Indian team is a highly depleted one with only a few regular players. Therefore, please do not think that we are "top of the world" now.

SL always had abundance of Talent!! SL just beat seasoned T20 outfit that ate cricket for breakfast, lunch and dinner!! They may not have enough T20 international game experience but they were seasoned veterans played alongside and against World T20 international players!!

Obviously, nothing to crow about and feel elated.

Having to face depleted Indian side is not anybody's fault but we should be happy to gain some match experience at least. What India lacked was the proper balance due to Covid issue. As a result I believe SL found some good T20 players in Wanindu, Banuka, Asalanka,Chameera etc.
