Some members from my own party are unhappy with me for criticizing President Ranil Wickremesinghe, former MP and Head of Samagi Vanitha Balawegaya Hirunika Premchandra said today.

Ms. Premachandra said these persons within the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) who criticize her are class conscious. “There are some people within the SJB who are class conscious and go after the people who represent the elite society,” she said.

“UNP, unlike the SJB, is dominated by elite class people. Our party consists of ordinary people and its leader does not endorse class consciousness within the party, but yet, there are a few who are addicted to highest social strata,” she added.

“I criticize President Wickremesinghe as he is like a drunkard who allows his associates to make advances on his wife and allow them to destroy his own family,” she also said.

The head of SJB women’s wing questioned as to how SLPP and UNP could work together in an alliance as the two parties are two different extremes." SLPP-UNP alliance will never be successful," Premachndra said in this regard.(Yohan Perera)

Remember, the votes are received from the voters. So, the concerns of some MPs are immaterial if you are not silly. Concerns of ordinary people are needed to be voiced as you do which is commendable.

Which respectable lady will utter a nonsense like this ? She praised Ranil until she was in in UNP. She will do more than this one day when she leaves SJB to Sajith. It shows her caliber. People had lot of expectations about her earlier. That's why she was sent to parliament. Now, they know her qualities. Next time people will not do the same mistake.

I am happy to see just one human keep his head straight Mr Dion. People are suffering at the edge of life and death. When someone feel pain of such a situation only he will react like that. Most of the Dky commented here seems not having a bit of sense of the suffering the people of country going through. In addition to that what she said was legally not liable. So what she said was descent expression of anger on misappropriation of public fund.

So, is it wrong being opposed her by her party members for criticizing the president? Our point of view is that her party members are right. Criticizing the President of the country in footloose is not that worth for an ordinary citizen of the country, and she is as a lawyer should understand it. Her party members might be well aware of what are the moral values even she is unbeknown about them. She should not wish that her party members would follow her. However, she should be more mature before being engaged in active politics.
