A group of individuals have returned several items that were looted from hotels in Negombo and other areas following the recent unrest, to the Katana police station.
Videos were circulated on social media showing that many individuals were carrying several items from the hotels and houses in Negombo and several other areas which had been set on fire.
Police said mattresses, freezers, chairs, various electronics were among those items returned.
Earlier, police said they would take action against those involved in violent incidents and those who looted properties and items from the hotels and houses which were destroyed by mobs.

From 1956 to 1983 and now still it is running into their blood, looting and robbing. Hooligans loot local houses and shops while politicians are robbing from the treasury and loans. Sri Lanka is well known for that.
