It was transpired before Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court that even after the lapse of three weeks, the Fort Police is yet to keep Rs. 17.85 Million in cash recovered from the President's House, under judicial custody.

Taking into consideration the facts, Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage today issued an order directing the OIC of Fort police to immediately produce in court, a sum of Rs. 17.8 Million recovered by protesters inside President's House on 9th July.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage made this order when the four suspects arrested for forcibly entering the President's House on the 9th of July were produced before Court by Slave Island Police.

Defence Counsel appeared on behalf of the suspects and alleged that police have arrested four individuals out of thousands of people who entered the President's House following the 9th of July incident. They submitted to the court that individuals who acted to hand over the recovered money to the Fort Police have been arrested unreasonably.

Refusing a request made by Slave Island police to remand the suspect, the Magistrate ordered to release of each suspect on a surety bail of Rs.500,000.

Now who is the thief? The protestors who recovered the money or the police that is illegally holding the money? A fools

Even the protesters can achieve cash reward of 45 million through foreign forces, then why can not posses less than that of the amount the Presidential Secretariat of that amount for the exclusive affairs of states for expenses? Undoubtedly, protesters who submitted the sum to the police must have possessed more than that of they really robbed from there.

Hats off to the activities who handed over the money to police. It would have been better if they had vacated the premises too. Another example for the saying Power (in whatever form) corrupts. Absolute power is going to corrupt them more. Most of the people would have continued supporting them if they had not embarked on a politically motivated agenda.

Wonder if the money is still intact or gone to the pockets of the Police???

Such acts like handing over the money back had endeared them to the public. What happened after that had allianated them from the public. The millions who supported the Aragalaya wanted the system changed, punish the corrupt and above all to bring back the economy to nomalacy.
