Lengthy queues were witnessed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, as immigration/emigration process for passengers at the airport being carried out manually due to a computer system malfunction at the Immigration section.
The Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka (AASL) said that the process will be done manually until the fault is rectified.
This was reported a day after a system failure was reported at the Immigration Department's head office suspending all services, including the issuing of all types of passports.
However, the Department said that issuing of passports resumed this morning as usual.
