The Department of Immigration and Emigration requested the public's help in locating British national Kayleigh Fraser, who posted about the protests at Galle Face.

According to them, the British national was questioned by Immigration and Emigration officers on August 3, and officials reportedly visited the home of British national Kayleigh Fraser and seized her passport for violating visa conditions.

Kayleigh Fraser had posted a video on social media showing immigration officers inspecting her passport.

However, the department said that they have yet to locate the whereabouts of British national Kayleigh Fraser, who had fled to a Colombo residence after immigration officials asked her to leave the country before August 15, 2022.

Earlier, the department said they have confiscated her passport because she had violated her visa conditions, hence she will have to visit them to obtain her passport. They speculated that she has not left the country but is evading the authorities. (Indika Sri Aravinda)
