Peradeniya University Administration has decided to subject all new entrants to a Psychoanalysis medical test.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Pro. Terrance Madujith told the media on Sunday evening (12) at the Senate House that the students admitted to the Medical Faculty and the Management Faculty were medically tested and found that five percent of them were in a condition requiring psychiatric treatment.

The media conference was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. M. D. Lamawansa.

Prof. Madujith said that the new entrants would be subject to a psychoanalysis test to identify their mental disorders, if any, in addition to the usual medical examination. He pointed out that this decision was taken in view of the suicide of several students.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Lamawansa said after the psychoanalytical test, the students concerned would to provided treatment and open avenues for them to engage in extracurricular activities including sports and aesthetic activities. (Shane Seneviratne)

They will start another strike against it! Because most of them may fail!

Shocking Information About British Doctors Monday, 13 March 2023 10:19 PM

According to British surveys, the most number of suicides among all professions comes from the medical profession. One Doctor commits suicide in Britain every three weeks. This is not discussed in public here in Britain as the Doctors want to keep their image as the “ number one profession “, otherwise people would not go and see the Doctors with their own medical problems. The reason for the suicides is to do with the sad and unintellectual nature of their job. It primarily involves daily seeing the sick and the dying people from morning to evening for at least five days a week for all of their professional life.

Excellent. Make entrants to pay at least 20% of the educational fee. Anything given free in this world is not appreciated. My grandfather did well in his studies in Ceylon. However his parents did not have the means to educate him in the university at that time. He emigrated and his children and grand and great grands have done very well in life.

All the politicians and the appointees should do the examination before they get elected.

At Peradeniya University, students become mentally unstable after entering the university. Because they have to face severe ragging with physical, verbal, and mental harassment related to the barbarian subculture there, even if you go to Pera at night now, you can see how junior students are being harassed by seniors even in midnights in the areas like Woose even at the midnights. If you want to keep the good mentalities, try eradicating the cruel subculture there. It`s better you dumb professors check your brains first before checking the newcomers.

This sounds like a good idea, but knowing our University admin (specially Prof. Lamawansa, who is an avid supporter of viyath maga, and known to follow their leader's path of "this isn't my problem" theory), this is meant to clear the administration of any responsibility in case of another suicide. They can simply say that the student was already mentally ill when he/she was entering the University, and that the University bears no responsibility in case of a suicide or something like that. Way to go Prof. Lamawansa.

One of my teachers said that when he was studying in Peradeniya during WW2 a group of university students started harassing a British solder going on a walk with a WREN British lady. He turned around clenched his fists and invited his tormentors to come at him one by one. They all melted away. This is our pack attitude. We only attack in packs
