The offender is without a doubt a close associate of a powerful person or someone who has links to a powerful person. This type of behaviour has no place in developed countries. Sri Lanka is poor in so many ways.

I don't see an obstruction happening here. Also, unless threatened, it is freedom of speech.

    Truth Wednesday, 07 December 2022 10:42 PM

This is not good at all and the offender must be investigated and charged. But this is an exceptional incident where a civilian is offending a policeman. I would like to know what the police does when they abuse the public daily particularly women who go to make an entry at the police station. Selective investigations favoring the police must STOP! Set an example Sri Lankan Police in every aspect and then a whole nation will follow and respect you.

I am a Lankan who grew up in USA and still love my parent'sSri lanka. Corruption and nonsence, interference to rules and regulations need to be stopped. Sri Lanka can do much better with such an educated population unlike africa. Society and governing rulers and adversaries need to respect each divisional regulations. It is a disgrace Lankans still act ruthless in every aspect in the country. Bring in stricter laws that can not be Over run by politicians nor their families. Sri lankan as we all say, I can just call so and so and have them remove the ticket or have them punished etc. From top to bottom Refresh and empower all areas of governance. Be professional, that means come on look at our MP's wearing Sandals and a Sarong when they meet Foreign nationals. Look more posh and more appealing. Copy Singapore letter to letter or like a western country. Punish to the law not as favours. Change Police color to Black uniforms not Indian kukka color. Remove old buses to appeal tourists.

Amnesia patient! Thursday, 08 December 2022 07:45 AM

These guys suffer from amnesia! They keep asking "මම කවුද කියලා දන්නවා ද?" repeatedly. They have forgotten who they are! Police should give two hard slaps and a kick in the butt, to jog their memory back Next time they will not ask this question. This is the only treatment for these amnesia patients.

    Inshi Thursday, 08 December 2022 07:53 AM

The police are there to protect the people. If any traffic offence was committed, then the person in question has to be dealt with. The habit of using powerful names to get away must stop. Stand up for what is right, it is only then that there will be mutual respect.

    N. N. Perera Thursday, 08 December 2022 08:10 AM

While accepting the fact that Police having shortcomings is not an excuse for one behaves towards a peaceful acting police officer. Hope police constables will have some form of trade union rights like Inspectors of Police Union. This guy should be punished.

They are all Security Guards. See their uniform, They have not been issued it’s a personal weapon.

JAYANTHA Walallawita Thursday, 08 December 2022 04:55 PM

Obviously this guy is very well connected to Harin Fernando who is a corrupted politician in Sl. Last July thanks to ARAGALYA all these UNP/POHOTTU/SJB idiots were scared of coming out of their residences and they learned a proper lesson. Since the big Donkey RW came into power to rescue 134pohottu idiots country back again itheir hands. It is obvious you see more and more incidents like these happening very frequently since law and order gone to dogs. Only answer is establishing a NPP government. This is the only and credible solution otherwise we will see day by day more and more violence.
