The Police Headquarters announced that a Rs. 2.5 million cash reward will be awarded for any information on the main suspect in the shooting incident in which a 42-year-old man was killed and another was injured when a gunman on a motorbike opened fire at them at Kotikawatte in Mulleriyawa on Monday.
The suspects who had travelled in a motorcycle had entered the house of the victim wearing a full face helmet and had carried out the shooting.
The police released photographs of the main suspect seeking public assistance to find him.
The police sought public assistance to provide information in this regard and assured all information will be kept strictly confidential and will never be disclosed to an outside party.
The suspect, has been identified as a 30-year old, named Ponnamperuma Arachchige Don Danush Buddhika alias Jile, resident of No. 42/02, Baron Thilakananda Mawatha, Mulleriyawa New Town bearing the ID number 911854481V.
Police also revealed the address of the suspect's wife as of No. 333C, Robert Gunawardena Mawatha, Malabe.
Police said the suspect has tattoos on both his arms from shoulder to elbow.
Angoda, Himbutana, Mulleriyawa New Town, Weligama, Midigama, Hikkaduwa and Galle are identified as the areas where the suspect has visited the most.
Also, the number of the motorcycle on which the suspect arrived for the shooting is WP XV 5432.

Why such a reward for an "not so unusual" shooting ? For rewards for news suspects of many major crimes, no rewards.
