Steps will be taken to bring back all students to universities for academic activities in the near future, University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. Sampath Amaratunga said.

Addressing the media, he said every university could presently bring 50% of its students' capacity. Therefore, the university vice chancellors had the authority to summon 50% of the students according to the requirement.

It has been decided not to bring the full student capacity, due to the COVID pandemic.

All facilities are open for the first and second doses of the COVID vaccination programs at the universities. Arrangements have been made to administer the third rollout as well, he said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Kindly make them study, not stage protests at the drop of a hat, thereby spreading all sorts of "viruses"!
