Claiming that there was no issue for cardiac patients to receive Covid vaccine, Cardiac Specialist today requested all active and chronic cardiac patients to receive both doses of any Covid vaccine claiming that they were more vulnerable to develop complications or even death.

Cardiologist of the Negombo Hospital Dr. Disna Amaratunga told a news conference of the Health Promotion Bureau that it was not an issue for the cardiac patients who had undergone bypass surgery, stenting or any other surgery to receive the Covid vaccine.

She said cardiac patients should continue their medication even after getting infected with Covid unless a doctor advised them to discontinue the medications.

Dr. Amaratunga said cardiac patients should, however, discontinue their routine exercises after getting infected with Covid-19.

She said cardiac patients should keep an eye on the Covid symptoms as Coronavirus could infect their heart, cardiovascular system and the conduction system.(Ajith Siriwardana)

If anyone falls sick or have any adverse effect will you take the responsibility? let the people decide whats best for their health. If anyone wants to wait it off thats their sovereign choice.
