The cabinet of ministers today decided to issue fuel only for essential services from mid night today(27) until July 10, Cabinet spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardane said.
The minister also said that the government is planning to request all public and private sector institutions to apply for work from home facilities till July 10 because of the ongoing fuel crisis.
Both public and private sectors should apply this strategy as fuel will be supplied to only to essential services, such as health sector, transportation of food and agricultural sector and hospitals, Minister Gunawawardene said.
Also, it was announced that zonal education authorities have been given the right to decide on functioning of schools. (Yohan Perera)

As a minister pls be diplomatic people are suffering don't you get it have some TLC personal use somany other things are behind taking kids taking my parents to doctors emergency requirements etc etc if all of you take public transport untill fuel mater settles i wil take my hat off to congratulations the all ministers and families friends who have privet vheicles

This is not a solution to the fuel crisis. Soon the remaining stock of fuel will run out. Essential services will die too.

Hi, Private vehicles also have there fare share of work to be done and they need fuel too.. in case a person falls I'll that person needs to be taken to the hospital right.. please be fare.. thank you
