A new alliance will be formed with the priority of the United National Party (UNP) and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) members in two or three weeks, Tourism and Lands Minister Harin Fernando said.

Addressing a political event, he said President Ranil Wickremesinghe or himself did not want to split the SJB.

"When I first joined the government, I had the opportunity to bring many members from the SJB, but Mr. Wickremesinghe told me not to. However, when I recently met him in Hikkaduwa, I told him that it is time to give an opportunity to the members who want to crossover from the SJB," he said.

We have a program to implement in the country until this December. We need your support to continue with the program, he said.

Minister Fernando requested that the people be a strength for the President until then. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

What ever new alliance will be formed even no one will vote for UNP again, result will be same as last time, remember that, citizens are fed-up of listening to your same story every day, nowadays you guys cannot fool the citizen's again, Can you remember you promised in the parliament, when ever Ranjan Ramanayake released from prison that you will sacrifice your parliament seat to him, where is your promise, did you fulfil that, finally you jump to the other side, first you sacrifice your parliament seat to Ranjan, after that we will trust you.

Parliaments members can cross over but the people will be with the leader and the party, Same with SLPP supporters members can leave the party but loyal supporters will remain with the party , it applies to SJB as well people will remain with Sajith and with the party . SJB has gone from strength to strength nobody can stop them. Champika, Rajitha and Fonseka they are not national leaders.
