Sri Lanka Forestry Institute Director Tilak Premakantha has been appointed as the National Zoological Gardens' new Director-General.
The Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Minister, C.B. Rathnayake, claimed that the appointment was made after the removal of Shermila Rajapaksha, who was assigned to the post in October 2021.
Premakantha will assume duties as the new Director-General of the National Zoological Gardens Department. (Chatuanga Samarawickrama)
