More than 800 cases are being reported daily and we urge the public to adhere to health guidelines and get their booster jabs as soon as possible, said Deputy Director of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath.

"A percentage of COVID patients including the elderly and those with comorbid conditions will require oxygen. But we haven’t reached maximum capacity. Having said that we don’t want to have more number of cases or a higher demand for oxygen," Dr. Herath said.

800 is nothing. The USA had 692,000. People have to learn to live with it. Educate the public. Tell them about how to take precautions. Not this doomsday bullshit. Omicron is highly contagious but least life-threatening to vaccinated people. That should be the message.
